4 Angles Ep89 Competence-Oriented Recruitment Culture, NCS

South Korea is a country with extraordinary enthusiasm for education that raised the education level of the public. However, academic backgrounds and connections also became important elements of the selection process for new employees. And because of this, jobseekers began pouring efforts into gaining qualifications and experiences to build their resumes and it's now become basic etiquette to meet at least 8 or 9 requirements if a person wants to apply for a job. Companies that couldn't benefit from qualification-oriented recruitment are now offering ways to apply without unnecessary qualification section on their resumes, but the jobseekers' attitudes are still the same. To resolve this issue, the Korean government took a bold step and established NCS (National Competency Standards) to promote competency-oriented employment culture. Will such culture and education system be able to become a part of Korea like in advanced countries? Let's examine Korea's efforts to create a competency-oriented society and recruitment culture.

4 Angles Ep85 The Rapid Growth of the Pet Industry
On November 20,2015, the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan-gu opened the Berlin East Side Gallery exhibition. After Germany's reunification, Korea became the only divided country in the world. Let's think about the future of Korea's MDL (Military Demarcation Line) and DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) as we look at how the Berlin War transformed from the symbol of Germany's division to art known all across the world. We look into Korea's proposed DMZ Peace Park regions (Paju, Cheorwon-gun, Kosong-gun) and ponder about how to look at Korea's tragic history of the Korean War and division.
